Why the name “Re:Birth”?

Just like naming a child, choosing the name for your business is important. I spent weeks thinking of the name I wanted to use to start my business. I even hired a professional to discuss options. Everytime I thought I came up with something unique, I would do a google search just to find out it was already taken. It was very discouraging, but I didn’t give up.

I wanted my business name to mean something. I wanted it to incorporate my ideals. I wanted it to be easy to remember. I bounced ideas off of my husband, mom, and a professional. We came up with several ideas, but I kept coming back to Re:Birth.

It was simple, and could be looked at from two different directions that both are very meaningful to me.

Re:Birth is used as a reintroduction to birth. Our society heavily portrays childbirth as this scary, painful, miserable event. Almost as if there is no other way to have birth except to have surgery, or scream your baby out. I, however, want to help moms and their partners learn a different way to think about birth. That it is natural, and while it is scary for some, that there are ways to help you prepare and ease nearly all of your worries. I want to help parents learn all they can about development, childbirth, and the newborn. That while there is no way to guarantee certain outcomes, there are definitely ways to tip the scales in favor of those outcomes.

On the other hand, the name Re:Birth was also chosen because I believe that during the process of childbirth, it isn’t just the baby being born, but also a mother. This is mom’s biggest moment. All that work poured into carrying and birthing her baby, the moment she gets to look into her baby’s eyes for the first time, or is all worth it. All those months, stretch marks and sleepless nights have led here to this. In that moment, the rest of the world fades. In that moment, their world is perfect.

So there you have it! Those are the reasons I chose the name “Re:Birth”. Thanks so much for reading ♡
